Do you have a blog that is not getting a lot of traffic?
You may be wondering how to get more blog traffic without spending ALL of your free time blogging.
Well, I’m going to let you in on a cold, hard truth when it comes to this blogging game.
You ready for this? Here it is:
Nothing worthwhile is easy.
Not just in life, but when it comes to getting more traffic to your blog.
Just speaking from my own experience, I know it takes hard work to get beneficial results from blogging.
I’ve witnessed first-hand the amount of time, effort, and determination it truly takes to achieve success as a line cook or by writing social media marketing and Web content for my freelance writing clients.
I know these things…because that’s what I am doing!
I am currently pursuing both cooking and writing for my career, and blogging about them in this blog to help others interested in pursuing either one or both of those careers.
Maybe you’ve been doing the things every blogger should be doing to run a successful blog, such as practicing safe inbound marketing. (“Inbound marketing”, also known as content marketing for you marketing novices and rookies, is an essential component of every successful business in the modern world. But I digress…)
Even with solid inbound marketing efforts being implemented to strategic perfection on the reg, you may still find yourself checking your hits with more dread than watching the Judge Dredd reboot.
You are no doubt just plain frustrated with pitiful low numbers of email list subscribers, eBook sales, podcast listens, and social media followers.
All of these lead to one more down number (the scariest of them all): revenue.
Stop fooling yourself. We all know what you’ve been avoiding for far too long:
Your blog is not reaching as many people as you know it should.
In this blog post, I’ll teach you how to focus your productive energy into ways to get more traffic for your blog while dramatically increasing your blog’s Web traffic numbers, social media followers, and even Klout scores and Alexa rankings.
Step 1: Read your old blog posts.
Re-read some of your previously published blog posts.
Now ask yourself the following important questions:
- Have my thoughts and opinions on the subject changed?
- Could I provide additional information that I have now that I did not then?
- Do I know how to write a good blog post?
If your answers to at least 2 out of 3 of those questions were “Yes”, then you have what it takes to become a successful blogger who creates new content from old content.
Step 2: Update old blog posts with your current thoughts and new information.
Do your new thoughts and revisions to the old blog post change the original intent or even enhance the blog post completely?
Then put it out there and start attracting a whole new audience from it.
This simple yet highly effective blog traffic booster can potentially add hundreds, thousands, or thousands of hundreds more daily unique visitors.

Fresh, useful content (even recycled old content) tends to bring an influx of new visitors and customers who found your blog by searching on the new content you added to your old blog post.
More blog traffic, higher revenue, and more customers is worth lifting a finger for, right?
Step 3: Cue up REO Speedwagon because your blog is “Back on the Road Again” to Success!
OK, I’ll admit, this step is just an excuse to play a cool REO Speedwagon song that truly kicks mucho rear ends.
Bump this banger at top volume while riding public transportation:
Conclusion
If you’re looking to breathe new life into a blog that’s gone flaccid, consider revising your old blog posts to give them a fresh perspective for a new audience.
It’s an easy and fun way to create new content without having to do too much heavy lifting.
Revising content is also an effective way to achieve high search rankings in the most popular search engines scouring the Web for fresh new content.
Some of these popular search engines include Yahoo!, Lycos, Excite, and of course, the inscrutable AskJeeves.com.
Do you ever re-read old blog posts you’ve written?
Want to re-write them?
