Like many people, I thought blogging was a major time commitment and would entail a lot of hard work and effort.
As it turns out, I was correct in these assumptions.
However, I also experienced a number of unexpected benefits of blogging that I now realize are guiding me in my journey to find success as an independent social media strategist.
Here are 5 unexpected ways blogging can make you hugely successful:
1. Blogging forces the expert out of you
When you are looking for an answer to a question, then you rely upon an expert.
But what’s an expert?
An expert is basically anybody with more knowledge about something than you, right?
So when you go to the expert with a question, you might get an answer.
If the answer works, then you will retain this knowledge and pass it along to others who encounter this same issue.
As you blog more, you will answer more questions, and become the expert at providing the right answers.
2. Blogging creates new opportunities
When you blog about your passion, then you will pressure yourself to always have something new to blog about.
When you are passionate and knowledgeable about something (such as fishing or blogging) then you will naturally seek more good opportunities.
Good opportunities are the ones that further develop, fine tune, and sustain your passion for the long-term.
3. Blogging will help you meet more people who can help you
Let’s say you’re out doing whatever it is that you love to do (and blog about).
While you are out doing this thing that you love to do, then chances are you might encounter OTHER people who ALSO love to do that same thing.
And you may even have have conversations about this thing that you both love. These conversations may lead to a new blog reader, Facebook friend, Twitter follower, or newsletter subscriber.
Once you make these connections with people who share your interests and passions, then you will have a bigger network of people willing to answer your questions and help you find success.
4. Blogging makes you more disciplined
Once you start blogging, then you will probably need stuff to blog about. This stuff is called content.
The audience that finds your content interesting or useful is your niche.
As you build your niche, you will naturally want to produce more fresh and relevant content.
This quest for great content leads to a more proactive approach to life.
You will face head-on the various obstacles that are preventing you from experiencing things that lead to great content.
Facing obstacles head-on is usually the best approach to overcoming or avoiding them.
5. Blogging gets you closer to your dream than you are now
What’s the best way to achieve something?
By doing nothing and hoping for it to happen?
Or by doing something and trying to MAKE it happen!
When you blog, you are taking active steps in making your success happen.
When you take steps toward your dream, you get closer to achieving it.
Conclusion
Most of us want to find the path to success in our lives.
A blog is an easy first step in that path.
Are you ready to get going on your dreams?
Then maybe it’s time you stop talking about it and start blogging about it!
Also, if you decide to start a blog and you are looking for a reliable Web hosting provider, then I highly recommend going with Bluehost over any other Web hosting provider out there, such as GoDaddy, HostGator, etc.
Bluehost is great for new bloggers as well as more advanced bloggers.
They have a dedicated account rep who will answer any questions you might have.
I’m fairly tech-savvy, but the live customer support helps in the few times I’ve needed to use them.
Your blog is an important key to your success, and that’s why you need to go with the best.
And the best Web hosting provider is Bluehost!
